Our approach
We are able to address the needs of the performing artist
from the comprehensive evaluation from “head to toe” to
the functionally based treatment plan. Our evidencebased
program includes:
- Studio to stage training
- Manual therapy and osteopathic manipulation techniques
- Modalities for soft tissue preparation and pain management
- Taping techniques for postural retraining and support
- Custom foot orthotic evaluation
- On-site aquatic un-weighting therapy
- On-site Pilates Mat and Reformer Performing
Our staff
Janis Montei, PT, OCS
Janis started dancing at the age of five and had over ten years of formal ballet training in Cecchetti method. She attended classes at the Kalamazoo Ballet Company and has served on the Board of Wellspring Dance Company for six years. As a 1980 graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Physical Therapy, Janis is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and has over 25 years of physical therapy experience, specializing in orthopedics, manual therapy, osteopathic manipulation and the full spectrum of sports medicine.
Nanci Ouellette, BFA, PTA
Nanci is a graduate of the Boston
Conservatory School of Music with a BFA
in dance. She was a professional dancer for
11 years in New York City and around the
world. She has performed in the Radio
City Music Hall’s Christmas show,
National tours of “Music Man”, and “42nd
Street.”
Nanci graduated from Davenport Univ.
with an Associates in Allied Health as a
Physical Therapy Assistant. She specializes
in dance and sports rehab and has been
instructing a Pilates based method for several
years. She is currently working towards
her Authentic Pilates Certification.
Will medical insurance cover this?
As this is as specialty program of our normal physical therapy services, there is no additional cost to the patient aside from their normal insurance co-pay or deductible. We participate with most commercial insurances and would be happy to assist you with any benefit questions you may have.
How do I get started?
All that we need to get you started is a prescription from your primary care physician or specialist with an appropriate medical diagnosis.
